The Connecticut River Valley Baseball League hosted a baseball skills clinic for kids of the Putney Recreation League on Saturday, May 14 at Putney Central School.  Around two dozen kids from grades 1 through 6 participated in fundamental skills stations which included throwing, fielding ground balls, and shagging pop flies.



After completion of the stations, everyone participated in a "3-2" game and then lined up to run the bases and slide into home plate.  The Putney Recreation League catered the event with donuts, muffins and, of course, popsicles. 



Clinic coaches were Richard Bissell, Quinton Carr, and Danny Lichtenfeld (Putney Fossils), John Waitekus and Marty Vallender (Brattleboro River Rats), and special guest Melissa Frydlo of the Whately Pioneers Vintage Base Ball Club.  Lots of fun was had by all - especially the coaches! - and we're all looking forward to doing it again next year.
