The Connecticut River Valley Baseball League (CRVBL, pronounced
curveball) is an adult, amateur hardball league based in southeastern Vermont, southwestern New Hampshire and north-central Massachusetts. We use wood or composite bats only. Individuals must be 20 years of age to play, 25 to catch, and 30 or over to pitch. We play a 12 to 15 game regular season with most games played on Sundays, along with a few Saturday evening contests on fields that have lights.
Landmark College plays most of their games against our teams.
The league was founded in 2002 by
Richard Bissell, owner of
Bissell Woodworking and
Jim Austin, Athletic Director of Landmark College. Four teams competed in the first season:
Brattleboro, C&S Warehousers, Putney Fossils, and
Saxtons River (now Chester)
Pirates. Since then, more than 150 people have enjoyed the competitive, yet laid back brand of baseball CRVBL offers.

We'll field seven teams for the 2011 season:
Brattleboro River Rats, Chester Pirates, Claremont Cardinals, Keene Black Dawgs, Ludlow Gold, Putney Fossils, and the
Saxtons River Pirates.
Our motto:
“Is it Sunday yet??”
